At the Central Islip Board of Education meeting, held on March 11, the board recognized outstanding student achievements:
-O'Neill Elementary School's Geomaris Hernandez, the Scripps Spelling
Bee Champion at the district level, and for representing Central Islip
at the Scripps Regional Competition. Pictured congratulating Miss

-Central Islip High School's Leighanna Tolan was honored by Suffolk
County Legislator Trish Bergin for her stellar bowling achievements,
including perfect records, being named a News 12 Scholar Athlete, and a
second-place finish in the New York State Tournament. Miss Tolan is
pictured with members of her family, Legislator Bergin, Coach Noel
Rivera and Central Islip High School Principal Eric Haruthunian. Miss
Tolan was also presented with a proclamation from New York State Senator
Monica Martinez's office.
-Three high school students, Daniel Mejia, Giancarlos Benitez, and
Indigo Ho Sang, achieved perfect scores on their January English Regents examinations, earning them membership in the prestigious 100 Club. Pictured are Daniel
