Testimonials

Being from CI has provided me with a beautiful life. I have life-long friends from the Reed School, some of whom are now my colleagues. My CIHS teachers (only one of whom is still a colleague) inspired me to become a compassionate and dedicated educator. I learned about the agony of defeat as a varsity soccer player on our dusty field, and the thrill of victory as a football spectator on our rickety stands. Acting on CIHS’ enormous stage taught me the importance of discipline and the beauty of theatre. The recent positive changes in CI, like the incredible auditorium, brand-new fields, and state-of-the-art technology, are not superficial. The gorgeous facilities, missing when I was a student here, reflect the CI Pride that has always existed. The most beautiful part of my CI life has been the thousands of students that have brought me more joy than I could have ever imagined. I am proud that today’s CI students enjoy things we did not have, and hope that the work my colleagues and I do here leads to even more progress and even greater CI Pride.

Testimonials

I have lived in the Central Islip community for about 34 years and have worked in the schools for 24 years now. What I love most about being a part of the C.I. community is a sense of belonging and a sense of pride. The people that make up the C.I. community, both past and present, are filled with love and compassion for one another. We are part of a welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive culture. We are supportive of one another, and best yet, the bonds and friendships we form are lasting. As an alumna, I have only been blessed to see how living and serving in the same community for so long allows you to be a walking testimony to current students—that anything and everything is possible, and that being there for others is what the Central Islip community is all about. As I continue to guide students through their academic careers, I remind them to seek knowledge, gain wisdom, walk humbly, have the courage to stand out, and faith that can move mountains, for your story matters.

Testimonials

As a proud graduate of the Central Islip School District, I'm honored to serve as a teacher in the community that shaped me. Growing up, I was inspired by dedicated educators who believed in me, challenged me, and helped me grow both academically and personally. Their impact is what drives my passion to be the same kind of teacher for my students. Being able to give back to the district that gave me so much is both a privilege and a responsibility I hold close to my heart.

Testimonials

I have lived in Central Islip my whole life. I went from Alfano to Mulligan, to Reed, and then the High School. I had so many amazing teachers through the years. They were always so encouraging and supportive of me. My daughter is going through the Central Islip school system now and has had amazing teachers too. I think that is what helped inspire me to want to become a teacher. I feel very lucky to be able to work alongside some of the teachers I had. The teachers and staff in Central Islip show so much love and care when working with their students. I only hope that I can have the same impact on my students that my previous teachers had on me.

Testimonials

The Central Islip School District has been more than just a place of learning—it’s been home. From my very first musical in sixth grade to traveling the world with the concert choir, from choosing euphonium in fourth grade to performing as a senior at Hofstra, and from elementary math to pre-calculus, I was nurtured by teachers whose compassion and belief in me changed my life. Now, as a teacher in the same district, it’s incredibly rewarding to give back to the community that helped raise me. I'm proud to inspire the next generation, just as my teachers once inspired me.

Testimonials

It has been such an amazing experience growing up in Central Islip and then returning here to work. As a student in Central Islip, I still remember many of the great teachers who not only provided academic support but also created a caring environment where you felt safe and included. Throughout my school years in the Central Islip School District, many amazing friendships were created along with many wonderful experiences, such as my sixth-grade dance, the 8th-grade trip to Canada, pep rallies, and prom! Now, as a teacher, it is my goal to provide not only academic support to students but also to create a safe and nurturing environment to help them be successful in whatever path they choose.

Testimonials

The Central Islip School District has shaped me into the person I am today. All of my closest friends are people I met right here in Central Islip—many of whom I've known since kindergarten and elementary school. The support I received as both a student and an athlete truly helped me succeed in college and in my professional career. It's amazing to now work alongside some of the very people who inspired me to become an educator. As a proud student and graduate of Central Islip, it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come—from when I first started as a Pre-K student to where the district is now. I’m beyond grateful to be part of this journey and excited to give back to the community that helped shape me into the man, educator, and coach I am today.
