Central Islip School District's Summer Enrichment Program at Mulligan Elementary School is the setting where 350 elementary-aged children are enjoying a balanced contingent of academics and positive self-awareness lessons. Mrs. Tracy Rentz-McLeod serves as the program's principal, assisted by Ms. Allison Philips (Math Coordinator); Ms. Kathi Gallagher (English Language Arts Coordinator); and Mrs. Michelle Ehrhardt (STEAM Coordinator). Teachers are meeting with their students each weekday through July 29th. In addition to academic enrichment, students are transported to and from Mulligan Elementary (seven large busses and two mini busses), and receive healthy breakfasts each morning. Images of students and their teachers illustrate engagement in OZOBOT Robotics, math lessons in fractions, and a social studies class about America's Independence Day. During a tour of the program, Superintendent of Schools, Ms. Sharon A. Dungee, applauded Mrs. Rentz-McLeod, discipline coordinators, and teachers for their implementation of the program, and praised the students for their participation and focused engagement in their studies.
