Senior Spotlight – Emily Pascal
This week's Senior Spotlight shines on Emily Pascal. Emily will be attending the University of Connecticut where she will major in Bio Medical Engineering. She plans to pursue a position with the United States Government in hopes of designing medical devices/artificial organs along with developing software for these devices.

Emily is active in a myriad of school and community activities and clubs. She is Senior Class President, NAACP Islip Town Branch NAACP President, Student Council Recording Secretary, Assistant Technical Director for School Stage Productions, she is on the Women 2 Women Executive Committee, and she is a member of the Student Action Committee.

Emily shares that the most significant influences during her high school career are Mr. Ehrhardt, Dr. Griffin, and Mrs. Mitchell. Mr. Ehrhardt opens all doors of opportunities for all of his students, Dr. Griffin gives good advice in a calming way, and Mrs. Mitchell is very similar to my mom, and she keeps us all in line and she's always there for the students, Emily explained. Her biggest influence outside of school is her mother  My mom is my rock and she's very supportive in everything I do, Emily said.

Asked what advice she has to share with her peers, Emily stated: Fake it til you own it. If you are not confident, then put it in your head that you are confident and it will work, Emily explained  And, she added, always be open-minded to new opportunities.

The Central Islip Board of Education, Administration, Faculty and Staff wish Emily the best of luck in her future endeavors.
