Central Islip High School Senior, Ryan Antwi, accepted a $1,000 scholarship as he is named a News 12 Scholar Athlete for his outstanding athletic accomplishments, academic success, and commitment to his community. With Ryan Antwi, (pictured third from left), are Central Islip High School Principal Mr. Eric Haruthunian, Central Islip School District Director of Athletics Ms. Trish Lectora, Ryan Antwi, Bethpage Federal Credit Union Assistant Vice President for Community Development Mr. Robert Suarez. Track Coach Mr. Christian Pisano, and News 12 Sports Editor Mr. Kevin Maher. Mr. Antwi's accomplishments include but are not limited to his four-year Varsity Athlete status, MVP, All Academic Athlete, New York State Scholar Athlete Coaches' Award, placed 2nd in NYS for the Triple Jump, placed 1st in the Triple Jump at the St. Anthony's Invitational, member of PTSA, co-ambassador for the Student Action Committee, Concert Choir, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and was President of the Islip Town Branch NAACP. Mr. Antwi has committed and will be competing in Division I at Cornell University. Mr. Antwi can be seen on News 12 on May 23, beginning at the 5 p.m. hour and each hour thereafter.
