March Madness is well known for the NCAA college basketball tournament, where teams compete to win the national championship. This year Cordello started a March Madness Reading Challenge in conjunction with PARP (Parents as Reading Partners), where administrators, teachers, parents, and students participated. Each adult who participated recorded themselves reading their favorite story. Each day, students listened to two stories and voted for the one they wanted to advance to the next round. We are currently about to begin the third week of our reading challenge as we wait for our March Madness Reading Champion. Students also took part by reading for 20 minutes every day and writing down how much they read in their reading logs. The classes that read the most minutes in K-2, 3-4, and 5-6 by the end of the challenge will receive a movie party.
