Alfano students were treated to an assembly with NED, a character education program that centers around a loveable cartoon character whose name is an acronym to:

-Never give up
-Encourage others 
-Do your best

Alfano Principal Ms. Carmen Vazquez said students bought yo-yo's to practice using them. Proceeds from the purchases of the yo-yo's will go to pay it forward so another elementary school in Central Islip may also host the assembly.
