Smart Board Cleaning
Smartboard Cleaning Tips
- Initial Cleaning:
- Use a dry, soft microfiber cloth. Avoid paper towels.
- If needed, use a damp microfiber cloth with plain water. Ensure the cloth is not wet.
- For Persistent Stains:
- Apply alcohol-free glass cleaner (e.g., Windex) to a soft microfiber cloth. Never spray directly on the board; apply to the cloth and then gently wipe the screen.
- Avoid getting cleaner into the pen tray recesses.
- For stubborn stains, use Expo whiteboard cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.
- Avoid:
- Sponges, Mr. Clean® Magic Eraser, abrasive materials, and harsh paper towels.
- Permanent or dry-erase markers on the screen.
- Applying pressure or using unapproved cleaning solutions.
- For Severe Stains:
- Diluted Bleach Solution:
- Mix 4 tsp. of bleach per quart of distilled water or 1/3 cup of bleach per gallon of distilled water.
- Apply with a spray bottle to a cloth; do not oversaturate.
- Isopropyl Alcohol:
- Use 70-90% isopropyl alcohol, pre-diluted. Dilute higher concentrations with distilled water.
- Apply with a spray bottle to a cloth; do not oversaturate.
- Diluted Bleach Solution:
- Note: Always test a small, inconspicuous area before cleaning the entire surface.
