Risevision Indoor Displays

Building and Department Admins Only.  If any other staff member would like photos or events posted to the indoor displays at the schools please reach out to your building administrator.

Rise Vision runs a free live training session every Thursday at 2:00 PM ET where users can ask questions in real time (via Zoom), and they send out a recording afterward if you can't attend live. There's also a library of past recorded webinars you can browse anytime.

Their main Help Center also has a getting-started video and many individual how-to articles with short embedded videos baked right into the specific topic (for example, the scheduling article mentions a quick video walkthrough).

Adding Photos to the RiseVision Display A Simple, Step-by-Step Guide for department and building administration.

Part 1: Log In to RiseVision

Step 1: Open your web browser (Chrome, Edge, or Safari) and go to this address: apps.risevision.com

Step 2: Click the button that says "Sign in with Google."

Step 3: A Google window will pop up. Enter your full district email address (for example, yourname@centralislip.k12.ny.us) and click Next.

Step 4: Enter your district Google password and click Next. This is the exact same password you use to check your district email.

Step 5: That's it — you're logged in! You should now see the RiseVision home screen with a menu on the left side of the page.

If you don't have a Google sign-in option: Some staff accounts are set up with a regular email and password instead of "Sign in with Google." If you don't see the Google button, or your login doesn't work, contact the Technology Department — do not create a new account on your own.

Part 2: Create a New Photo Slideshow

In RiseVision, a group of photos that plays on the screen is called a "Presentation." Follow these steps to create one just for your photos.

Step 1: In the left-side menu, click "Presentations."

Step 2: Click the green button that says "+ Add Presentation."

Step 3: RiseVision will show you a gallery of templates. In the search box, type "slideshow" or "photo" to find a template made for displaying pictures, and click on one you like.

Step 4: Give your presentation a clear, simple name that explains what it is and when it's from — for example, "Fall Festival Photos - Nov 2026." This will make it much easier to find later.

Step 5: On the left side of the editor, click "Playlist," then click "Add."

Step 6: Choose "Folder of Images & Videos."

Step 7: Choose where your pictures are coming from: pick "Storage" if you've already uploaded them to RiseVision before, or choose to upload a folder from your computer or phone. Select the folder with your photos.

Step 8: Click on the folder to open its settings. Here you can set how many seconds each photo stays on screen, and choose a transition effect (like a fade) between pictures. A good starting point is 6–8 seconds per photo.

Step 9: When everything looks right, click the "Publish" button in the top corner to save your slideshow.

Tip for choosing photos: Use clear, well-lit, horizontal (landscape) photos when possible — they look best on the wide TV screens. Avoid photos with a lot of small text, since it can be hard to read from a distance.

Part 3: Put Your Slideshow on the Screen (and Set Dates)

Creating a slideshow doesn't put it on the display by itself — you also need to add it to a "Schedule," which tells RiseVision which screens should show it, and for how long.

Step 1: In the left-side menu, click "Schedules."

Step 2: Click on the schedule for your building's display (ask the Technology Department if you're not sure which one to use).

Step 3: Click "Add Playlist Item," then choose "Presentation."

Step 4: Find the slideshow you just created in the list, check the box next to it, and click "Add Selected."

Step 5: Click on your newly added slideshow inside the schedule to open its date and time settings.

Step 6: Set the Start Date — this is the day your slideshow will first appear on the screen.

⚠ You MUST also set an End Date — every time! Set the End Date to the day you want the slideshow to stop playing. This is one of the most important steps in this whole guide. Why this matters: if you skip the End Date, your slideshow will keep playing forever — even after the event is long over. Nobody wants to see "Happy Halloween!" photos still showing on the screen in March. Before you move on, double-check: does this slideshow have an End Date? If the answer is no, go back and set one now.

Step 7: Click "Save" to finish.

Your photos are now scheduled to appear on the display between the Start Date and End Date you chose. Changes can take a few minutes to show up on the actual screen.

Part 4: Keeping Slideshows Up to Date All Year

Your display will stay fresh and useful all year if you add, edit, and remove slideshows as events come and go. Here's how.

Adding a new slideshow for a new event

  • Repeat Part 2 and Part 3 above to create and schedule each new slideshow.
  • Give each one a clear name with the event and month (example: "Winter Concert Photos - Dec 2026") so your list of presentations stays easy to read.

Editing an existing slideshow

Step 1: Go to "Presentations" and click on the slideshow you want to change.

Step 2: Click on the "Playlist," then click the folder of images to add more photos, remove ones you no longer want, or change how long each photo displays.

Step 3: Click "Publish" again to save your changes.

Removing a slideshow that's no longer needed

  • The easiest way is to simply let its End Date pass — once the End Date arrives, RiseVision will automatically stop showing it. You don't have to do anything else.
  • If you want to remove it from the screen right away, go to "Schedules," open the schedule, click on the slideshow, and either change its End Date to today or remove it from the Playlist entirely.

A good habit — check in each season: At the start of each new marking period, season, or school break, take five minutes to look through your Schedules. Remove or update anything that's outdated, and confirm that every item still has an End Date set.

Quick Reference Checklist

Every time you add a new slideshow:
