Create Your Central Islip Email Signature

Part 1: Open the Canva Template

  1. Log in to the MyApps Portal.

  2. Open Canva for Education.

  3. If prompted, select Teacher.

  4. From the menu on the left, select Brand.

  5. Choose Central Islip Logos from the dropdown menu.

  6. Select Email Signatures.

Part 2: Personalize Your Signature

  1. Choose the email-signature template you prefer.

  2. Click Use This Brand Template in the upper-right corner.

  3. Replace the four sample text fields with your information.

  4. Carefully review the spelling of your name, title, department, phone number, and any other information.

Please do not move or modify the logo, colors, fonts, background, layout, or canvas size.

Helpful tip: If your information does not fit properly, shorten the wording instead of changing the font size or moving design elements.

Part 3: Download Your Signature

  1. Click File in the upper-left corner.

  2. Select Download.

  3. Choose PNG as the file type.

  4. Keep the size set to the original 1× size.

  5. Do not change any other download settings.

  6. Click Download and save the file to your computer.

Your finished signature must remain exactly 420 × 140 pixels.

Helpful tip: Give the file a clear name, such as FirstName-LastName-Email-Signature.png, so it is easy to locate.

NOTE: If you use the desktop client (the Outlook Program on your Computer) you also need to create the signature in that program too.  The Web version does not sync signatures to the desktop program (yet). Instructions.

Part 4: Add the Signature to Outlook

  1. Return to the MyApps Portal.

  2. Open Outlook.

  3. Click the Settings gear in the upper-right corner.

  4. Select Account.

  5. Select Signatures.

  6. Click Add Signature.

  7. Enter a name for the signature, such as CI Email Signature.

  8. Click Insert near the top of the signature editor.

  9. Select Photo and upload your completed PNG file.

  10. Set the new signature as the default for new messages and replies.

  11. Click Save if prompted.

Final Check

Send yourself a test email and confirm that:

  • The entire signature is visible.

  • The image is clear and not stretched.

  • The information is correct.

  • The signature appears automatically in new messages and replies.

Important: Do not resize the image after inserting it into Outlook. Resizing can make the signature blurry or change its proportions.

Customize and Build Your Own Signature

Feeling creative? You can also design your own signature in Canva using a custom canvas size of exactly 420 × 140 pixels:

  • Step 1: Click Create using the plus button in the upper-left corner.

  • Step 2: Select Custom size near the bottom of the menu.

  • Step 3: Enter 420 for the width and 140 for the height.

  • Step 4: Make sure the measurement is set to px.

As long as you use the correct 420 × 140 size, you can customize your signature while keeping it perfectly formatted for email.
