The Extended School Year program students and staff visited the Central Islip Civic Council, where the "Ink and Impact" team hand-delivered handmade cards to the staff as part of an initiative to bring extra kindness to the community.

Students also had the opportunity to rotate through interactive stations, including the beekeeper, schoolhouse and blacksmith exhibits.

High School Instrumentalists Perform at Winter Concert

Central Islip High School played host to its winter high school instrumental concert on Wednesday, January 14 for the district's final winter concert of the 2025-26 school year.

Led by Mr. Jeremiah Ryan, the concert band began the evening with two pieces, Entrance of the Tall Ships and Into The Storm.

Mr. Kevin Pyle welcomed all in attendance and introduced his concert band. The group began with Strike Up The Band, which featured solos from Daniely Amaya Juica, Oscar Bonilla Jr., Brandon Urrutia and Chris Castillo.

Next was How High the Moon with solos from Castillo, Sarah Cunningham and Douglas Vicente. The musicians concluded their pieces with Tank!, and Ibrahim Balogun performed the final solo.

Mr. Pyle transitioned to his symphonic band, who performed three pieces beautifully: Amparito Roca, To Challenge the Sky and Heavens Above with solos from Gabriella Torres and Mathias Macias, and Invicta.

To close, the highly-acclaimed wind ensemble performed Espirit de Corps, Toccata and Persis.
