The Central Islip Teachers Association held its annual awards night on Wednesday and awarded the Class of 2026 more than $108,000 in scholarships thanks to the generosity of retired and current Central Islip teachers. The CITA also recognized the top 10 students in grades 7–11.

In accordance with NYSED requirements, each school must conduct one Emergency Dismissal Drill annually (formerly referred to as the Go-Home or Early Dismissal Drill). This drill must occur no more than 15 minutes prior to the normal dismissal time and is designed to test emergency response procedures requiring an early dismissal.
