Biography

Mrs. Maureen Esposito was elected Vice President of the Board of Education at the July 14, 2025 Reorganization Meeting.  Maureen Esposito first took office to the Board of Education on August 14th, 2023, and won election to a three-year term on May 21st,  2024.

A 44-year resident of the Village of Islandia, Mrs. Esposito and her husband, Larry, have three children, all of whom attended Central Islip Schools.

A staunch supporter of providing a positive scholastic experience for all students, Mrs. Esposito said her primary goal as a member of the School Board is to provide a quality education for all students in Grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth. "It is imperative that our School District take a proactive approach towards inclusivity as we work to offer educational opportunities for all students to succeed whether they are in regular education, special education, whether they are gifted or have special needs - every student deserves only the very best that we, as an educational institution, can offer," Mrs. Esposito explained.

Mrs. Esposito possesses a combined sense of school and community, as evidenced by her involvement in both. "Being a CI parent, a CI resident, and a CI teacher have instilled in me a keen sense of the needs of our students and community alike," Mrs. Esposito explained. "I take my charge as a member of the Board of Education very seriously, and thank our residents for having trust and faith in me to help guide our schools on a pathway towards success."

Mrs. Esposito has been a member of PTA Council for 35 years; Morrow Elementary PTA for 38 year; she is member of the Board of Directors for the I AM CI Foundation; and she is active in the St. John of God parish.
