Senator Monica Martinez Honors Dr. Marner

Dr. Nathaniel Marner, Cordello Elementary School Principal, was honored on March 2 during a ceremony marking a Centennial of Black History celebrations hosted by New York State Senator Monica Martinez.

Dr. Marner was recognized for his dedicated advocacy for youth in the Central Islip Community. He is administrator for the 'My Brother's Keeper' initiative - launched by President Barack Obama in 2014, supporting young men of color through mentorship, leadership development, and academic empowerment.

Dr. Marner has expanded opportunities for students by launching Cordello University and the Saturday Academy, integrating academic support with social emotional learning. He also welcomed Darryl 'DMC' McDaniels of Run DMC to address students on anti-bullying, self-esteem, and confidence, thereby creating a meaningful impact on our young children.

Dr. Marner mentors doctoral candidates and presents at conferences at Molloy University and SUNY Old Westbury. Dr. Marner and his wife, Dr. Victoria Marner, are proud parents of four young children.
