Oscar Bonilla Receives Unique Scholarship

Oscar Bonilla, a Central Islip High School junior trumpet player, received the first-ever Da Capo Web Development Inventory Scholarship for $500 at last night's instrumental winter concert.

Mr. Patrick Hait, Cordello Elementary School band teacher and president of Da Capo, LLC, presented the scholarship to Bonilla and wished him well on his future music endeavors.

Hait founded Da Capo in 2019 and has since grown his reach across 22 counties in New York to help with music festival and audition registration, video audition tools, QR code systems and email tools.

Mr. Jeremiah Ryan, CIHS music teacher, offered his praise of Oscar and is excited to see where his music career goes.

"To say Oscar is special is an understatement," Mr. Ryan shared. "It is very evident from hearing him perform that he is an excellent trumpet player. He is blessed with a strong foundation of natural ability, but that is only surpassed by his thirst and love of music."

After the scholarship was awarded, Mr. Ryan continued to speak about what this scholarship means for Bonilla.

"This scholarship will give him access to work with some of the finer trumpet players in our area to help showcase his abilities and to ultimately help get to the next level where I know he will thrive," he said.

Beginning in January 2026, eligible districts using Da Capo Inventory will have access to the Da Capo Inventory Scholarship Program, offering financial support for students enrolled in summer music programs and private music study. The program, funded through Da Capo Web Development’s commitment to giving back to music education, is designed to “reduce financial barriers and expand access to meaningful musical opportunities for students,” according to the company’s website.
