Q: Are you involved in any school activities or clubs? If so, which ones?
A: Yes, I’m involved in several activities including Stage Crew, Varsity Swim Team, Varsity Badminton Team, Legal Eagles Mock Trial Team, Women 2 Women, Action Committee, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and French Club.

Q: Have you ever taken on a leadership role at school?
A: Yes, I’m the lead visual engineer in Stage Crew, captain of the Varsity Swim Team, and drumline captain in the Marching Band.

Q: Have you received any awards, honors, or special recognition?
A: Yes, I’ve received several honors including being selected for the QuestBridge College Prep Scholar program, earning the Student Scholar Award and High Honor Roll since 7th grade, receiving a NYSSMA Gold rating on a timpani solo, a community service award from Senator Monica Martinez, and the AP Scholar with Distinction award from College Board.

Q: Do you participate in any activities outside of school?
A: Yes, I serve as a community advisor for Central Islip Votes in Islip Forward and interned for New York State Deputy Speaker Phil Ramos during the summer.

Q: Have you ever performed in a play or musical?
A: No, I haven’t performed in a play or musical.

Q: Who are your biggest role models in and outside of school?
A: My biggest role models in school are my teachers because they’ve helped me grow by teaching valuable skills. Outside of school, my biggest role model is my mother because she is selfless and has worked so hard to support my family.

Q: What qualities do you believe make someone a good leader or role model in school?
A: A good leader is hardworking, dedicated, and has strong communication skills. They guide others to accomplish their goals while providing support and encouragement along the way.

Q: How do you contribute to creating a positive environment at your school?
A: I contribute by encouraging my peers to work hard toward their goals and reminding them that anything is possible.

Q: Please list a teacher or staff member who has made a positive impact on you and explain why.
A: Mrs. Harrington, Mr. Ehrhardt, Mr. Ryan, Mr. Grabowski, and Coach Rios have all made a positive impact on me. They consistently encourage me to strive for success and are always there to help whenever I face challenges, which shows how much they truly care about their students.

A: My favorite part about my school is my classes because I get to learn new information and expand my knowledge.

Q: What are some activities you enjoy in your spare time?
A: In my spare time, I enjoy reading books, listening to music, advocating for my community, and spending time with my friends.

Q: What’s your favorite book, movie, or TV show right now, and why?
A: My favorite book right now is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott because it beautifully explores the transition from childhood to womanhood and the diverse ambitions of women. It’s an inspiring story that highlights both the challenges and responsibilities women face in society.
