Musketeer Monday Part One: Zackory Bozor, Central Islip High School

Q: What is your favorite subject in school, and why?
A: My favorite subject is Global History because I find it the easiest and most enjoyable.

Q: Are you involved in any school activities or clubs? If so, which ones?
A: I participate in My Brother’s Keeper, Bible study, the Black Student Association, and sports including football and track.

Q: Have you ever taken on a leadership role at school (e.g., Safety Patrol, Student Council)? Please describe your experience.
A: Yes, I have taken on a leadership role in football as a team captain.

Q: Have you received any awards, honors, or special recognition? Tell us about them.
A: While I haven’t received any major awards, I did earn a certificate from a public speaking event.

Q: Do you participate in any activities outside of school, such as community theater or sports? Please explain.
A: No, I do not currently participate in activities like community theater or sports outside of school.

Q: Have you ever performed in a play or musical? If yes, what role did you play, and what was the experience like?
A: No, I have not participated in a play or musical.

Q: Who are your biggest role models in school? Who are your biggest role models outside of school?
A: In school, my role models are my peers on the sports teams I play on. Outside of school, my sister is my biggest role model because she is a big overachiever and keeps the standard high.

Q: What qualities do you believe make someone a good leader or role model in school?
A: A good leader or role model leads by example, treats others with respect, makes responsible decisions, and inspires others to do their best.

Q: How do you contribute to creating a positive environment at your school?
A: I try to create a positive environment by participating in extracurricular activities like the Black Student Association. For example, we created posters around the school to help make people of color feel more welcome.

Q: Please list a teacher or staff member who has made a positive impact on you and explain why.
A: Mr. Winkler has had a positive impact on me. Through small lectures and guidance, he has tried to steer me in the right direction many times.

Q: What is your favorite part about your school?
A: My favorite part of the school is that it is more diverse than my previous school, which makes it more enjoyable in my opinion.

Q: What are some activities you do in your spare time outside of school?
A: I spend a lot of my spare time doing community service.

Q: What’s your favorite book, movie, or TV show right now, and why?
A: During the Lent season, my favorite book is the Bible.

Q: How would your friends describe you?
A: I think my friends would describe me as outgoing.

Q: What does being a good classmate or friend mean to you?
A: Being a good friend means being someone who can make others laugh or be a shoulder to lean on.
