Musketeer Monday: Fynn Cittadino

Q: What is your favorite subject in school, and why?
A: AP Computer Science A is my favorite subject. The content is very interesting, and it provides real-world skills that can help me in the future. In addition, Mr. Ehrhardt makes the class manageable and fun.

Q: Are you involved in any school activities or clubs? If so, which ones?
A: I am the Vice President of the Psychology Club and a member of the History Club, Junior Class, and CISA.

Q: Have you ever taken on a leadership role at school (e.g., Safety Patrol, Student Council)? Please describe your experience.
A: I founded the Psychology Club and currently serve as its Vice President. In the club, Dr. Charles, the leadership team, and I plan meetings while working to teach members about psychology in a fun and engaging way.

Q: Have you received any awards, honors, or special recognition? Tell us about them.
A: I received a Certificate of Excellence in Volunteerism from the PTSA for the hours I spent volunteering at various events.

Q: Do you participate in any activities outside of school, such as community theater or sports? Please explain.
A: I am a Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow. Scouting America is a youth organization that helps young people develop leadership and life skills. The Order of the Arrow is similar to an honor society within Scouting. Through these experiences, I have learned leadership, teamwork, and goal-setting. I’ve also had opportunities such as sailing in the Virgin Islands, winter camping in Minnesota, and attending national conferences and a National Jamboree in West Virginia. This summer, I plan to work at a sleepaway camp in the Adirondacks to give back to the organization.

Q: Have you ever performed in a play or musical? If yes, what role did you play, and what was the experience like?
A: No, I have not participated in a play or musical.

Q: Who are your biggest role models in school? Who are your biggest role models outside of school?
A: In school, I look up to several teachers. Dr. Charles has shown how much staff care about students. Ms. Connor is one of the kindest people I’ve met, and Mr. Halley is one of the best teachers I’ve had. Outside of school, my older brother, Ty, inspires me to always do my best, and my younger sister, Bella, has shown me that maturity comes from experience, not age. My parents have always supported and encouraged me. I also look up to my Scout leaders—Mr. Terhune, Mr. Blaschuk, Mr. Palladino, and Mr. Gleeson—who all exemplify giving back to others.

Q: What qualities do you believe make someone a good leader or role model in school?
A: I believe a good role model must be empathetic and kind above all else. The people I admire most may not always be the best at what they do, but they are consistently kind and considerate.

Q: How do you contribute to creating a positive environment at your school?
A: I contribute by creating opportunities for myself and others. I founded the Psychology Club this year and plan to start another club next year to continue building a positive and engaging environment.

Q: Please list a teacher or staff member who has made a positive impact on you and explain why.
A: Mrs. Dorn, my Honors 8th grade Algebra teacher at Reed, has made a lasting impact on me. Her dedication and support motivated me to always do my best, and that mindset continues to guide me today.

Q: What is your favorite part about your school?
A: My favorite part of school is the after-school activities. They bring together students from different grades and backgrounds and make the school experience more fulfilling.

Q: What are some activities you do in your spare time outside of school?
A: Most of my time outside of school is dedicated to Scouting with Troop 327 in Islip Terrace.

Q: What’s your favorite book/movie/TV show right now, and why?
A: My favorite recent show is the latest season of Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK).

Q: How would your friends describe you?
A: My friends would describe me as kind and trustworthy. I’m someone who listens, validates their feelings, and offers advice when needed.

Q: What does being a good classmate or friend mean to you?
A: Being a good friend means helping others, even when it’s not convenient. It also means being honest—calling friends out when they need it—and supporting them in becoming the best version of themselves.
