A Message from the Board of Education and the Superintendent | Veterans Day

As Veterans Day approaches, let us take a moment to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and to honor those who continue to serve so that we, as Americans, may enjoy the freedoms that keep our Nation proud and strong. To all of our Veterans, on behalf of the Central Islip School District Community, thank you for your service!

Morrow Reaches New Levels in Spring Concert

Andrew T. Morrow Elementary School’s fifth and sixth grade band and chorus dazzled the audience with their amazing performance on Thursday night.

The band, directed by Mr. Eduardo Lopez, conducted three pieces: Launch! by Kenneth Kamping, Gentle Winds by Timothy Loest, and Cumbia Dances arranged by Eduardo Lopez.

The fifth and sixth grade chorus was then led by Mrs. Andrea Majeski, and accompanied by Dr. Hait. A fun and intricate selection of pieces were chosen.

The students sang A Jolly Good Laugh by J.B. Thomas with a duet featuring Justin Mangana on Piano and Toluwalogo Thomas on Voice. Next was Octopus’s Garden by Richard Starkey, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and arranged by Roger Emerson. Northern Lights by Andy Beck followed and the concert closed with Sing a Solfege Song With Me by Cathy DeLanoy.

The night featured several talented students who are participants of NYSSMA and those who took part as speakers!
