Morrow Recognizes, Celebrates Black History

Morrow Elementary School proudly celebrated Black History Month with an evening of powerful performances and student-led presentations honoring Black history, culture, and achievement.

The event was rescheduled to Tuesday due to the snowstorm that happened a week ago.

The program opened with a salute to the flag and a warm welcome from school leaders, followed by a moving rendition of Lift Every Voice & Sing. Students and special guests shared a variety of performances, including dance presentations by Domin8 Dance Studio and the Venettes Cultural Workshop, an original poem titled “Our Heroes,” a 6th Grade Band instrumental performance, and a dynamic “March on Washington” play.

Students also highlighted influential figures such as Katherine Johnson, presented Black History Month projects, and showcased Black history through American Sign Language. The evening concluded with an energetic step performance by the Morrow Steppers and special guests.
