Marketing Class Visits NYC on Tuesday

Central Islip High School students in Mr. Frank DeModna’s principles of marketing class were able to visit New York City on Tuesday.

The class paid a visit to Macy’s on 34th Street to see real world examples of how marketing works in the marketplace.

Mr. DeModna noted certain things about the interior of the store, such as product placement, lighting and advertising, while he also discussed the history of R.H. Macy and how he popularized the concept of retail between consumers.

After visiting Macy’s, the class walked to Bryant Park to enjoy shops and food/beverage stands before a filling lunch at a pizzeria in Times Square.

Mrs. Nicole Campbell, Mr. Christian Pisano, Mr. Anthony Sarmiento, and Mr. Brendan Grabowski joined the trip as well and brought students of their own to enjoy Manhattan during the holiday season.
