Leticia Kim, Kamila Sarmiento Romero Granted Proclamations

The Central Islip High School Class of 2026 valedictorian, Leticia Kim, and salutatorian, Kamila Sarmiento Romero, were each presented with a proclamation by Legislators Sam Gonzalez and Trish Bergin.

Legislator Bergin spoke about both Kim and Sarmiento Romero, congratulating them on their academic achievements and wishing them well on their post-graduate journeys, which will begin at Harvard University for both students this fall.

Legislator Gonzalez thanked Dr. Sharon A. Dungee, Superintendent of Schools, for her dedication in providing opportunites for all students in Central Islip and echoed congratulatory remarks to both students.

Leticia and Kamila were joined by Dr. Sharon A. Dungee, Superintendent of Schools; their family members; Mr. Eric Haruthunian, CIHS principal; and Mr. Darren Ehrhardt, computer science teacher and senior class advisor.
