The Cordello Elementary School drama club performed an adaptation of The Three Little Pigs this afternoon in the music room.
The Central Islip Teachers Association held its annual awards night on Wednesday and awarded the Class of 2026 more than $108,000 in scholarships thanks to the generosity of retired and current Central Islip teachers. The CITA also recognized the top 10 students in grades 7–11.
In accordance with NYSED requirements, each school must conduct one Emergency Dismissal Drill annually (formerly referred to as the Go-Home or Early Dismissal Drill). This drill must occur no more than 15 minutes prior to the normal dismissal time and is designed to test emergency response procedures requiring an early dismissal.

Jimmy Gaston Jr., Central Islip High School senior, was named one of Long Island's top 100 high school football players on Newsday Wednesday morning.
Gaston Jr. plays both sides of the football at running back and linebacker where he totaled over 600 yards and four touchdowns in an injury-ridden season last year.
