Gingerbread Houses Modeled as CI Landmarks

Ms. Tavares-Bradley's students at Alfano Elementary School recreated landmarks in the Central Islip community in the form of gingerbread houses for the holidays.

Some examples include the Central Islip Public Library, Target, Bravo supermarket, a local barber shop, hair salon, and the Alfano school building. 

"They also wrote how they can show kindness to the Central Islip Community on the light bulbs around the buildings. Sticking with the kindness theme, we created a fireplace mantle with Kindness stockings on top, where each student wrote kind notes to one another," Ms. Tavares-Bradley said.
