From CI to Cambridge: Valedictorian and Salutatorian Commit to Harvard

Leticia Kim and Kamila Sarmiento Romero, Central Islip High School Class of 2026 valedictorian and salutatorian, will both attend Harvard University this fall.

Kim recently visited Harvard during spring break and took note of the campus and its surroundings. 

"It was beautiful," she said. "I saw so many people running by the water and others walking around campus. It was surreal to see in person." 

The two will travel back to campus in a few weeks for admitted students weekend. They both plan to major in engineering

The board of education and the Central Islip School District congratulate Leticia and Kamila on their successes and wish them all the best as they embark on their future endeavors at Harvard University.
