Early Dismissal Drill Information

In accordance with NYSED requirements, each school must conduct one Emergency Dismissal Drill annually (formerly referred to as the Go-Home or Early Dismissal Drill). This drill must occur no more than 15 minutes prior to the normal dismissal time and is designed to test emergency response procedures requiring an early dismissal.

As required, staffparents/guardians will be notified at least one full week in advance, including the date and time of the drill, to allow families to make appropriate arrangements.

Districtwide Drill Information

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, the Central Islip School District will conduct a Districtwide Emergency Dismissal Drill as part of our Emergency Response Plan.
