Cultures Celebrated at Alfano Hispanic Heritage Assembly

Alfano Elementary School held its annual Hispanic Heritage Month assembly on Wednesday morning for the entire student body and faculty.

The assembly began with the pre-kindergarten students, who entered carrying flags from various countries before singing a welcome song.

A group of sixth-grade students then shared information about three different musical instruments from Latin America and were able to see demonstrations of each instrument in use.

Staff members performed the Chacarera, an Argentinian dance, followed by additional Alfano teachers and faculty showcasing dances such as Cumbia, Chamamé, Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata.

The program concluded with a social dance featuring hit songs by Bad Bunny.
