Cordello Students Attend Patriot Day Assembly
Cordello Elementary School held its annual Patriot Day assembly for students on the anniversary of September 11, 2001.
Dr. Nathaniel Marner, principal, welcomed all in attendance before explaining the significance of the day. He guided the students to stand for a playing of America's National Anthem.
Three students narrated the history of the day and its meaning before Ms. Alexa Ruggiero, chorus teacher, sang "Proud to be an American," accompanied by students.
The entire gym emptied outside to the front of the building by the American flag to pay tribute to the fallen by having a brief moment of silence.
