Cordello Remembers and Honors on Patriot Day

Cordello Elementary School held its annual Patriot Day assembly for its third- through sixth-grade students to honor and remember those who lost their lives and were impacted by the September 11, 2001, attacks.

The assembly was organized by Cordello's administration; Dr. Nathaniel Marner, principal, and Mrs. Yvette Rivera, assistant principal. Dr. Sharon A. Dungee, Superintendent of Schools, was present and offered her sentiments to the students.

In an act of patriotism, Mr. Patrick Hait, Cordello band teacher, played the National Anthem on the trumpet, and Mrs. Alexa Lollar, Cordello chorus teacher, performed "God Bless the USA."

Students were able to grasp the meaning behind the assembly and stood respectfully with their classmates while honoring the brave men and women who serve the United States.
