Central Islip School District Welcomes Frank Bacchi

The Central Islip School District welcomes Mr. Frank Bacchi as the new Assistant Superintendent for Business, effective July 1, 2025.

Mr. Bacchi joins the Central Islip Union Free School District from the North Babylon Union Free School District, where he served as Assistant Superintendent for Business since 2020. Prior to that, he was Business and Operations Manager for the Mattituck-Cutchogue Union Free School District (2019–2020) and held the roles of Senior Accountant and Deputy Treasurer at Western Suffolk BOCES, Dix Hills (2018–2019). He completed his School District Business Leadership (SDBL) internship at the Babylon Union Free School District Central Office.

Before entering the field of school district finance, Mr. Bacchi held several corporate roles. He was Manager of Driver Growth at Uber Technologies in Washington, D.C., where he developed a driver acquisition strategy that increased the driver base by 10% and launched new products in six Pennsylvania markets. Prior to Uber, he was an Associate in GEICO’s Corporate Accounting Management Program, where he led a team that published and presented management reports to Berkshire Hathaway and GEICO executives and boards. He also created GEICO’s Investment Plan—a strategic projection of expected investing cash flows—and served as a Business Analyst with GEICO’s Competitive Advantage Leadership Group. Mr. Bacchi is a Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Bacchi brings a wealth of experience in school business operations to Central Islip. While in North Babylon UFSD, he developed annual General Fund budgets that resulted in four consecutive years of operating surpluses, with expenditures kept within 1% of earned revenues each year. Additional accomplishments include spearheading a $69 million bond project for instructional building upgrades, infrastructure improvements, athletic field renovations, construction of a cosmetology suite and TV studio, and upgrades to two district auditoriums. He also oversaw a $17 million Energy Performance Contract, which provided for the installation of solar panels, as well as enhancements to lighting, heating, and cooling systems.

As he begins his new role, Mr. Bacchi shared his vision for the future of the Business Office:

“I look forward to introducing a set of goals that—through collaboration with Central Islip’s administrative, instructional, and support teams, and with the support of Superintendent Dr. Sharon Dungee and the Board of Education—will preserve and enhance the district’s fiscal stability, integrity, accountability, and transparency,” Mr. Bacchi said.

“My top priority will be ensuring long-term sustainability and financial health while supporting the district’s growth and the goals of the Board of Education and community. It’s essential that we continue to stay within New York State’s 2% tax levy cap.”

He emphasized that these initiatives are designed to support an educational framework in which all students can reach their academic potential, while remaining mindful of the community’s financial capacity.

Mr. Bacchi holds a School District Business Leadership Certificate from Stony Brook University’s School of Professional Development. He earned his Master of Management Studies from Duke University’s prestigious Fuqua School of Business and his Bachelor of Professional Studies in Business Management from SUNY Farmingdale.

“On behalf of the Board of Education, administration, faculty, staff, and the entire school community, I congratulate and welcome Mr. Bacchi as he assumes his new role," Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sharon A. Dungee stated. "His impressive credentials and broad experience in school business finance will be invaluable as he leads the financial operations of our Business Office with integrity, transparency, and a strong commitment to meeting the needs of our district.”
