The Cordello Elementary School drama club performed an adaptation of The Three Little Pigs this afternoon in the music room.
The Central Islip Teachers Association held its annual awards night on Wednesday and awarded the Class of 2026 more than $108,000 in scholarships thanks to the generosity of retired and current Central Islip teachers. The CITA also recognized the top 10 students in grades 7–11.
In accordance with NYSED requirements, each school must conduct one Emergency Dismissal Drill annually (formerly referred to as the Go-Home or Early Dismissal Drill). This drill must occur no more than 15 minutes prior to the normal dismissal time and is designed to test emergency response procedures requiring an early dismissal.

Angie Carpenter, Town of Islip Supervisor, visited Alfano Elementary School on Tuesday, March 24, to read to Dr. Alissa Bianculli's first-grade students.
Supervisor Carpenter read Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola, a story about a grandmother in an Italian town who uses a magic pasta pot to help her neighbors learn valuable life lessons.
