Welcome! Special Education Hosts Informational Night for Families

The Central Islip Special Education Department hosted an informative and interactive event at Mulligan Elementary School on Wednesday, March 19, for special education students and their families transitioning from the Committee for Preschool Special Education to kindergarten.

Mrs. Carol DelValle, Director of Special Education, welcomed parents and families to the cafeteria and ensured a smooth transition for their students. She also thanked Mrs. Renee Dash, Assistant Director of Special Education, for organizing the event.

Among the notable guests in attendance were Mrs. Yvette Rivera, Administrator for Central Registration; Ms. Jessica Iafrate, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction; and Dr. Elaine Medin, Director of Adult and Continuing Education, who also provided translations throughout the evening for families.

Mrs. Dash and Mrs. DelValle discussed summer services, available resources, the Committee for Special Education and its role, and other important topics related to student growth in the classroom.
