Musketeer Monday Part Two: Amy Rodriguez
Meet Ligia "Amy" Rodriguez as she shines in this week's Musketeer Monday spotlight!
Ms. Rodriguez began her career in the Central Islip School District in 1994 and is esteemed by her peers for her over 30 years of professional experience and her respectable work ethic.
As a senior office assistant, Ms. Rodriguez's responsibilities include state reporting, PowerSchool management, and overseeing elementary and secondary-level testing. Over the years, she has taken on numerous tasks, including assisting with Central Registration operations and providing Spanish-speaking translations for several years.
Ms. Rodriguez has been an active member of the district's Parent-Teacher Associations and has worked in the Night School program for the past few years.
A Central Islip resident since 1983, Ms. Rodriguez moved to the community with her family because they admired the schools and the neighborhood. Her children are proud Central Islip graduates: her daughter, Christina Rodriguez Almberg, now resides in North Carolina, and her son, Gregory Rodriguez, is an assistant principal in Queens. Ms. Rodriguez’s love for Central Islip remains unwavering, and she said her greatest rewards have always been — and continue to be — helping in her community.
During her free time, Ms. Rodriguez enjoys traveling, game nights, cooking, baking, reading a good book, and relaxing with family and friends. "I am also very fortunate to have a great working relationship with Ms. Fagan, my boss, and my peers, and I am grateful to know and respect so many of my colleagues," Ms. Rodriguez said.
Ms. Jackie Fagan, senior office assistant for the Department of Testing and Assessment, offered a heartfelt testimonial for her colleague:
"Amy is the heart of our department. With 30 years of dedicated experience within our school district, she has not only mastered her role but has also become a pillar of support for everyone around her. Her work ethic is unmatched, and she is always willing to lend a helping hand no matter the challenge. Having worked in multiple locations, Amy has left a lasting impact everywhere she has been, building strong relationships and creating positive memories along the way. She is not just a colleague but an inspiration to all of us."
Congratulations, Amy Rodriguez, from your friends and colleagues in Central Islip Schools!
