Musketeer Monday Part One: Leilani Woodard

In this week’s Musketeer Monday spotlight, it’s A.T. Morrow Elementary School fifth grader Leilani Woodard’s turn to shine! Leilani is A.T. Morrow’s Student Council selection for Musketeer Monday.

Leilani is involved in numerous school-related activities and has a wide range of interests. She is a member of the A.T. Morrow band, where she stands out in the brass section as a trumpeter. Leilani also enjoys playing basketball, but with a love for painting, she aspires to become a professional artist one day.

Leilani said her favorite principal is, indeed, Dr. Coker. When asked which teacher she might like to shout out, she candidly replied: “I like all of my teachers equally.”

A model student, Leilani shared that she enjoys having homework assignments to complete.

As a member of Dr. Sharon A. Dungee’s Student Council Roundtable, Leilani takes pride in representing her school as a voice for change: “I like to hear other kids’ ideas and do things that make our school a little better,” she explained.

Her favorite colors are black and yellow, and her favorite subjects are math and writing.

“I like to write research and opinion papers,” she said.

As for her favorite holidays? “My birthday and Christmas are my favorite holidays,” she said, then added, “My birthday is the first day of summer—June 1.”

Leilani said it’s “fun” being the middle child of three siblings. Her role models are her mom, her dad, and her family.

When asked what being a Musketeer means to her, Leilani shared:

“Being a Musketeer means being a part of whatever happens; we feel like a team.”
