Musketeer Monday: Annabely Paz
Meet Cordello Elementary School fifth grade student Miss Annabely Paz. Annabely is Dr. Marner’s Principal’s Choice to shine in this week’s Musketeer Monday spotlight!
Annabely serves on Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sharon A. Dungee’s Student Council Roundtable. When asked about her responsibilities in this special role, Annabely said:
“It’s an honor to be on Dr. Dungee’s Student Council Roundtable because she’s a good listener, and it helps me make our school have better things. As I was talking to my friends, I would write in my notebook some changes they would like to see, like different lunch choices.”
Annabely proudly confirmed that Cordello’s lunch menu was, indeed, modified to include a newly requested item—pupusas—along with other popular options.
A few of Annabely’s favorite things include math and homework.
“I like homework because it helps us outside school, and it helps us with what we do in school,” she said.
She also loves the color pink and the Christmas season. Her favorite teacher is Ms. Hamblin, and her favorite principal? None other than Dr. Marner!
Annabely is a saxophonist in the Cordello Elementary School band. She’s also active in intramurals, with volleyball as her favorite sport. Her role models? The alternative rock group Weezer. She is proud of her “very supportive” parents and her younger sister, Lucia.
When asked what it means to be a Musketeer, Annabely shared:
“To be a Musketeer means to be part of a bigger school, and my favorite part about Cordello is being part of a whole entire school where we all come to learn.”
Cordello Elementary Principal Dr. Nathaniel Marner offered this testimonial in support of his Musketeer Monday honoree:
“Annabely is a hardworking student who is very involved in the school community. For example, she sits on the superintendent’s Student Council Roundtable. I am most proud that she leads by example and is a role model for her peers.”
