The Cordello Elementary Band, under the direction of Mr. Patrick Hait, performed Royal Tower, Marching Marines, Amazing Grace and New World Adventure. The Cordello Elementary Chorus, directed by Mrs. Susan Walmsley, sang Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing, Stronger, I Want You Back/ABC and Shining Star. This concert was Mrs. Walmsley's swan song as an elementary school choral director. On hand to bid her farewell following her students' performance was an ensemble of Central Islip School District's music teachers who were introduced by Director of Music and Educational Technology Philip K. Voigt. Cordello Elementary Principal Brenda Jackson presented Mrs. Walmsley with a floral bouquet. Joining families and friends of the students who performed were Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction Sharon A. Dungee, School Board President Norman A. Wagner, School Board Vice President Michele Harriott, School Board Members William G. Softy and Glenn C. Mitchell and special guest, Suffolk County Legislator Sam Gonzalez. The Cordello Concert was the final performance in the 2019 Spring Concert Series.
