The Central Islip High School Marching Band, under the direction of their music teachers, Jeremiah Ryan and Steve Muller, and accompanied by Director of Music Philip K. Voigt, proudly represented the Empire State of New York and their hometown of Central Islip when they were invited by federal and state elected officials to march in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC. During this trip, Central Islip High School Seniors and Drum Majors Jason Birsner and Joseph Garcia honored the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery and placed a wreath in their memory and to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve America's freedom. The members of the Marching Band also took time out for the camera to send these images back home for their families, their school family and their community to enjoy. The Central Islip School District Board of Education, Administration, Faculty, Staff and Community congratulate the members of the Central Islip High School Marching Band and their teachers for making their hometown proud!
