The Central Islip High School Concert Choir is an organization for which its members have never failed to be proud. Since 2002, the Concert Choir has received many acclamations for its work. One of the main missions from the beginning has been to offer students a variety of quality musical experiences. Since 2004 the choir has visited Orlando, Florida for the All American Music Festival  and The Disney Honors National Choral Invitational (2005 &2007). In 2006 the choir participated in the 250th Anniversary celebration of Mozart's birth in Austria and the Czech Republic (PRAVISA).  In July of 2008, the Concert Choir participated in the American Celebration of Music in Italy (VEMIRO). In addition the choir has participated in choral festivals at Queens College and Five Towns College in addition to their involvement with the NYSSMA Major Organization Evaluation Festival where since 2002, the choir has received only GOLD  or GOLD w/DISTINCTION ratings). In April 2009,  year the choir achieved Superior Ratings, Best in Class (AAAA) trophies, and the Disney Silver Award at the Festival Disney Competition at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.   In November of 2006, all the students of the Concert Choir were invited guests of the Laurie Strauss Leukemia Foundation on the occasion of their annual benefit at Carnegie Hall in NYC! The choir was publicly honored before an audience of thousands for raising more than $7500 for a local cancer charity (Camp Adventure). This year the choir was selected to perform during one of the Concert Hours at the NYSSMA ALL-STATE CONFERENCE in Rochester, NY.

    From these wonderful and varied experiences our students develop much more than a love for music. Our students improve not only their musical skills, but their character as well. They learn the value of hard work, commitment, and loyalty. Students often credit Concert Choir as an important reason for their receiving scholarship awards, for improved academic performance, or for even completing high school! Students  have credited their involvement with music as one of their primary inspirations for teaching them how to reach their maximum potential. Our students are blessed to have music in their lives.
