President's Message

Board President’s Message

2017-2018

Welcome to the Central Islip Union Free School District.

On behalf of the Board of Education, Administration, Faculty and Staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2017-2018 School Year.

This academic year is filled with anticipation and promise as your children continue their educational journey. From our littlest learners to our high school seniors, every student is afforded the opportunity to achieve his or her personal best as they engage in a positive educational experience. School safety and providing a well-rounded quality education in an enriching environment in the classrooms, on school stages, and across athletic fields remain the top priority of the Central Islip School District.

Capital improvements and upgrades continue on our school buildings and grounds. The main auditorium at the high school has undergone significant upgrades and enhancements. Stage lighting, technology and air conditioning are only some of the improvements that make our auditorium a state-of-the-art venue which our school district and community can be proud of. As a result, all of our elementary and middle schools will join our high school to celebrate their winter and spring concerts in this beautiful auditorium. Please check your school district calendar for a full schedule of these events which I, on behalf of the Board of Education, Administration, Faculty and Staff, invite you to attend.

The relationship between our schools, community, businesses and elected officials is truly a partnership that puts our schools on a pathway to success for our students to follow. Our collective efforts continue to advance a scholastic agenda that provides our educators with the tools and resources they need to teach your children.

Be involved in your children’s school activities and feel welcome to attend Board of Education meetings. A schedule of Board of Education meetings and the wide array of school-related events and concerts are listed in the District Calendar as well as on the District Web Site. The Calendar and District Web Site contain important school-related information which you are encouraged to read.

I wish you all the best as together we embark upon the new school year.

Sincerely,

Norman A. Wagner
